Bom, estamos implementando algumas mudanças na casa para o seu conforto (e a minha comodidade!).

Nova entrada e saída estarão prontos em dias, criando uma antecâmara para melhor conter a vazão de som do bar para a rua.

Com a mudança de legislação enquanto a gente estava fechada, tivemos que fazer mudanças nos ambientes de fumantes e não fumantes. Na verdade é que não tinha área para não fumantes e agora tem. O andar de cima aonde tocam as bandas foi reservado para não fumantes. Quem curte música ao vivo e fuma tem que se exercitar um pouquinho, descendo para fumar. Exercício faz bem, especialmente ao fumante!

Como não se pode mais fumar charutos, cachimbos e cigarrilhas nas áreas de fumantes (eu não fiz a regra, só estou tentando obedecer a lei!!!) vamos fazer um “Cigar Room” aonde tinha a pista de dança e trazer a pista para onde tocam as bandas, para agitar o inferninho depois das bandas. Estes vão demorar um tempinho ainda mas logo logo estarão prontos.

No entretanto, após o feriado tem o UEFA Champions League, com a inglesada muito bem representada. Eu vou torcer pelo Liverpool, a cidade mais irlandesa da Inglaterra.

Folks, we are implementing a few changes in the bar for your comfort and safety (well, not really; I just like them!).

The new entrance to the bar will be ready in a few days, lowering our emissions of acoustic pollution. Sounds good but it is just a couple of doors, really!

While we were away on our forced sabbatical, the local legislation regarding smoking in public places changes so we have implemented a smoke free area upstairs where the bands play. So, if you like live music and are a smoker, you will be getting plenty of exercise flitting up and down the stairs. Exercise is good, especially for smopkers but there will be no extra charge for this!

Smoking cigars pipes, cigarillos and those horrible Idonesian cigarettes that smell like my socks is also now forbidden in normal smoking areas. (because now we have cured poverty, personal security, health and educational problems in Brazil and are solely worried about what you inhale. Anyway, as a result the disco will become a cigar room (The Humid Oar!) and dancing will take place in the new non-smoking area with the DJs doing their stuff after the bands have done theirs. This will take a week or two to implement, so be patient.

And this week after the long weekend, the Champions League semis are on with English teams guaranteed in the final. I will be cheering for Liverpool, England’s most Irish town.
